Karla León, better known as Sistah Vibes, is a Costa Rican who resides in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.
She is a physical therapist and DJ by profession. She is the official host of the world’s most relevant Reggae festival and a radio host for her show «Black Beats,» where she promotes the culture and history of various genres of black music. She began her career at the age of 17 in her home country as a Reggae, Dancehall, Ska, and Calypso selector. In the Canary Islands, her new home, she has continued her musical career on a steady basis since 2011. She stands out for her musical selection of black music in general, from its facets in Soul, Funk, and R&B to more explosive rhythms like Dem Bow or Afrobeat. Throughout these years, Sistah Vibes has evolved with the music and has fused with other genres. Currently, always faithful to her roots and after a season as a DJ in Liberia, Africa, she is characterized by more electronic sounds, always with percussive and organic bases, such as in Afro House, Afro Techno, Amapiano, and Latin House.
